The full name of His Highness Imam Malik is Malik bin Anas bin Malik bin Abi Amir bin Amru bin al-Harith bin Ghaiman bin Khutsail bin Amru bin al-Harith (Dzu Asbah) bin Auf bin Malik bin Zaid bin Syadad bin Zur'ah.

Imam Malik's family comes from the village of Dzu Asbah, a tribe around the city of Himyar, in Yemen. Because the full name of Anas bin Malik -a noble companion of the Prophet saw- is Anas bin Malik bin an-Nadhar bin Dhamdham bin Zaid bin Haram bin Jundub bin Amir bin Ghunam bin Adiy bin an-Najjar al-Ansari al-Khazraji. Anas bin Malik died in the same year as the birth of Imam Malik bin Anas.

Anas bin Malik -father of Imam Malik- himself is a member of the Tabi'in generation, namely the generation who met the companions of the Prophet. Meanwhile, Imam Malik is a member of the Tabiut Tabi'in generation. Imam Malik's mother was named Aliyah bint Syuraik al-Azdiyah.

Imam Malik bin Anas was born in the city of Medina. According to a strong history he was born in 93 AH (712 AD). Have Abu Abdillah chew, taken from the name of his son; Abdullah.
