This book is one of the indispensable books for every person who wants safety on the Day of Resurrection.

How could it not be, when “holding oneself accountable” is the path for those who take God’s blessings and satisfaction, those with whom God is pleased and pleased with Him.

It is no wonder that holding oneself accountable will be the way to escape from the wrath of God on the Day of Resurrection... the day of heartbreak and remorse. Whoever holds himself accountable will be safe.

He guides us to the method of accountability...on the obligations...on the prohibitions...and on the negligence, and how to remedy all of that in a way that compensates for shortcomings and erases bad deeds!

Let each of us have two questions for each movement... and each pause... for whom did you make it? How did you do it? The first is a question about sincerity... and the second is a question about follow-up. After that, hope is in God...who does not disappoint us!

So, hold yourselves accountable before you are held accountable.

It collects some of the hadiths and narrations related to the subject of holding oneself accountable from the companions, followers, and others, as well as poetry, wisdom, and sermons related to this subject. He divided it into five chapters: the first is about censuring the soul, the second is about punishing the soul, the third is about struggling against the soul and preventing it from its desires, the fourth is caution against the soul in opposing an evil turn and abhorrence, and the fifth is exhausting the soul in deeds in order to seek rest on the Day of Resurrection.

Al-Hafiz Abu Bakr, Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Ubaid bin Sufyan bin Qais Al-Baghdadi Al-Qurashi, their client, a loyalist of the Umayyads (208 AH - 281 AH), nicknamed Ibn Abi Al-Dunya (his title overshadowed his name until he became famous for it); Al-Hafiz Abu Bakr was born in the city of Baghdad, in the early third century AH, in the year two hundred and eight (208 AH). He is an Arab historian and writer. He taught Al-Mu’tadid Al-Abbasi and his son Al-Muktafi Billah. Al-Hafiz Ibn Katheer - may God have mercy on him - said about him in the beginning and the end: “He is famous for his many, useful, and popular writings, which are widespread in Al-Ruqiq and other things, and he was honest, a memorizer, and of chivalry.”
