WIEN, WIE ES ESST, the city's most comprehensive and well-known local guide, has been published annually by Falter Verlag for over 35 years.

The associated app for iOS provides an updated daily overview of more than 4,400 restaurants in Vienna and over 2,000 local tips from all Austrian federal states.

It doesn’t matter whether you live in Vienna, are visiting here or are going on a weekend trip as a Viennese - our app suggests the right restaurants for you at any time! From fast food and regional classics to international specialties and fine dining, there is something for all tastes.

Our "Wien, wie es isst" editorial team researches current new openings as well as changes to the kitchen, opening times or new takeovers for you on a daily basis. This means that you are always up to date. You can see immediately which bars you are looking for or in the vicinity are currently open and when it is curfew. We also take public holidays and vacation times into account in the opening times.

You can search for restaurants that have been discussed in a FALTER local review and read the local review directly in the desired local entry. Of course, you can also find out which FALTER edition the review is from.

You can also search for recommendations from our "Vienna, how it eats" editorial team.

Under "Tips" you will find our best-of lists on the most popular topics: from the best Viennese pubs, to the bars with the most beautiful view, to the best bars in the city center. Let yourself be surprised and try something new!
