Whist is a card game like Call Bridge, Call Break, Spades, or Cribbage

Whist is a trick taking card game that is played with the 2-A of all four suits. The game begins with thirteen cards being dealt to each player and the last card is placed face up in front of the dealer. The suit of the last card determines the trump suit for this hand.

Playing:

The play starts with the player to the left of the dealer leading any card. The other players must play a card in the suit led, or if there don’t have any cards in that suit then they can play any card. The winner of the trick is the player that played the highest card in the suit led, or the highest trump card played.

Scoring:

Scoring is one point for each trick taken after six tricks. For example, taking 7 tricks is worth one point, 8 tricks is two points, 9 tricks is three points, etc. The game is over when a team has a score of 5 points or higher.
