Waste in our environment is precious and provide numerous business opportunities

People generate a lot of waste daily, most of which is not disposed appropriately. Waste litters our environment and is responsible for numerous negative impacts such as clogging drainage infrastructure causing flooding; provide habitat for disease causing organisms; release harmful chemicals that affect living organisms; degraded aesthetics; and lease of toxic fumes when burnt.

Waste is made of precious material which can be recovered and recycled. Waste is a source of wealth. It requires less energy to recycle waste to new products than making the same from virgin material, and subsequently helps to mitigate against climate change. Hence recycling of waste products can be likened to mining of precious products. Many people are earning their livelihood from waste.
