The Markus Wasmeier Open-Air Museum Schliersee app guides visitors to the most important buildings and stations on the museum grounds.

After scanning the QR code, visitors hear interesting information about the respective station and repeatedly experience radio play-like scenes from life in a historic Bavarian farming village.

The Königliche Holzstube Neuhütten is something special. It shows the life of the Holzer, with information scenes in many rooms and a large multi-vision show about the alpine mountain forest.

Another highlight is the apiary, where the honey bee Pauline presents old methods of beekeeping.

The voice output of the app is either in German or in English.

About the museum

The old Bavarian museum village in the Markus Wasmeier open-air museum in Schliersee is a popular destination for the whole family and a meeting place for culture, tradition and handicrafts. The tavern "Zum Wofen" with 70 seats offers Bavarian delicacies and other delicacies, as well as coffee and homemade cakes. In the historic brewery, visitors can see beer brewing up close and even actively help to organize a beer brewing day. There is also a distillery on the museum grounds, it shows the art of distilling schnapps in the old Bavarian village.

Other buildings on the museum grounds, some with demonstrations of historical craftsmanship: carpentry, cheese making and cobbler's shop. Then they come

Lukashof, Riederhof and Behamhof farms: they show typical scenes and convey what farm life used to be like.

Mountain sheep and cattle graze on the museum railings. Bees are humming through the clear mountain air. But pigs, ducks, chickens and geese also bring life to the museum grounds and are not only a big attraction for our little visitors.
