Digital Guide to Northern Aegean Culture

DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL TOURISM, TOURISM AND EDUCATIONAL PLATFORM APPLICATIONS INCORPORATING VR/AR TECHNOLOGIES

As part of the project, an application for smart mobile devices was designed and developed, which includes at least one cultural route in each settlement depending on the number of points of interest with the aim of highlighting the points of cultural interest of the North Aegean Region and increasing the number of visitors to the specific settlements .

The application has the following features:

• Digital tour with easy-to-use interactive navigation to newer monuments and settlements of the Northern Aegean off-line and on-line.

• Retrieve and display point information with additional evidence in some cases.

• Presentation of enriched content per point of interest (texts, photos, videos, global video and virtual tours, map location and access directions).

• Use of dynamic maps to display points of interest and sightseeing routes.

• View the user's location on the map (if it has GPS).

• Ability to plan the user's visit and schedule it according to time, place and interests.

• Access to the Augmented Reality Application which aims to enhance the visitor's experience by providing additional multimedia information on selected points of interest.
