So far, most of us only know that the Islamic kingdom in the Malay world that was the first to establish diplomatic relations with the Ottoman Empire was the kingdom of Aceh Darussalam.

However, in Portuguese records, it is clearly stated about the presence of traders from the Ottoman Turks to Melaka City to buy hundred spices from the port of Melaka. In fact, Portuguese sources also state that there were Ottoman Turks in the Melaka army during the war between the Portuguese and Melaka in 1511.

In this regard, I feel called to make a further study of the relationship between the Ottoman Empire and the Malay Sultanate of Melaka. So around October 2015, I went to Istanbul for several weeks specifically to conduct a study on the relationship between the Malay Sultanate of Melaka and the Ottoman Empire.

Alhamdulillah, with the permission of Allah SWT, I can prepare this book which explains the facts about the relationship between the Malay Sultanate of Melaka and the Ottoman Empire. I hope that all readers will benefit from writing this book.
