The title Thibbun Nabawi (also spelled Thibb An-Nabawiy) has been discussed generally here regarding the benefits of honey. This time, I will try to explain some of the descriptions contained in the book, which consists of more than 67 major headings. It is a continuation of the description of the Book of Zaadul Maad and the Book of Ad-Daa Wa Ad Dawaa by Muhammad bin Abi Bakr bin Ayyub bin Sa'd al-Zar'i bin Hariz az-Zar'i ad-Dimasyqi, or known as Ibnu Qoyyim Al- Jauziah.

This book includes topics about the treatment of physical illnesses (as Thobib), cupping, the nature and actions of the prophet, the treatment of liver diseases and the treatment of diseases caused by magic and jinn (as Muallij). So the use of thobibi must be in line with our efforts to treat physical illnesses, while the term Muallij must be in line with our efforts to treat magic.

In summary:

a. A thobib does not have to be a convert, but a thobib can also heal magic. Thobib has a recipe for natural ingredients and combines dhikr and prayer.

b. A convert is not necessarily a thobib and he specializes in magical healing. Muallij only uses Koran verses and prayers for healing.

c. If a person can do both, then he must identify himself with a title that refers to his abilities and expertise. If he is more expert in magic, then he should use the title of mullij while if he is expert in the treatment of physical illnesses, he should declare himself as a thobib. This is in line with the hadith of the Messenger of Allah who only uses the khidmat thobib of experts when caring for oneself and friends due to war injuries or illness.
