About The Pinoy Parent

The Pinoy Parent aims to give support to parents to practice positive parenting.

Pinoy Parent is a publication site that intends to help young Filipino parents become more knowledgeable and more supportive when it comes to their children. Because parenting affects how a child develops, it’s important to consider all types of development (physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and moral), which is what this page aims to address.

By providing practical tips, advice, news, and other know-how on what can help make someone a better parent, especially through positive parenting, Pinoy Parent becomes a hub for young parents to learn and grow as moms and dads.

Across the globe and in the Philippines, children experience violence at home, with physical and humiliating punishment of disciplining from parents and caregivers the most frequent forms. Save the Children Philippines team introduced “The Pinoy Parent” which aims to empower parents/caregivers to practice positive parenting – creating better child well-being outcomes and preventing violent discipline against children. The Pinoy Parent is composed of three interlinked components to provide parents access to information and sustainable support for positive parenting: 1) an AI-powered mobile application; 2) Online Courses; 3) and an Omni Channel platform (website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) to cultivate a parent community equipped with knowledge and practices on positive parenting / discipline via long-form articles, image posts, videos, and online events.
