The Neotia University (TNU), West Bengal has been recognized and awarded as the "Symbol of Excellence in Education & Skilling India's Future" by The Economic Times, Best Education Brands 2017.

The Neotia University (TNU) has a vision of imparting education that prepares students to be leaders for the emerging global society.

TNU mission is to ensure industry participation to make the education contemporary and experiential, design and deliver educational programs to help the work force stay current in terms of knowledge and skills for career advancement, groom students to take up leadership positions in their chosen walks of life and make research and development an integral part of the university culture.

The family of TNU founder and chancellor Mr Harsh Neotia, were co-promoters of the cement giant, Ambuja Cement Ltd. The Neotia family started its journey in education with the Neotia Institute of Technology, Management and Science (NITMAS), previously known as the Institute of Technology and Marine Engineering (ITME), a college established in 2002, affiliated to the then West Bengal University of Technology, which is now known as Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT).The Neotia University (TNU) was established vide the West Bengal State Government Act XXIII of 2014. Though TNU is relatively new in its present configuration, it has its antecedents in the 14 year old institution.

TNU and NITMAS are the two dynamic endeavours of the AmbujaNeotia Group in the field of education. While NITMAS continues to offer long-established conventional courses to the students in West Bengal, TNU is primarily reaching out to a much larger audience, offering highly advanced futuristic courses in various field of Technology, Maritime Studies and in other general areas of education.

TNU is one of the few higher education institutions in India that has implemented Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), a well thought out and executed CBCS that help students to develop both the left and right parts of the brain, which is essential for professional excellence and personal satisfaction.

TNU is growing under the guidance of the luminaries on its Governing Board, the complete involvement of the Founder and Chancellor, Padmashri Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman of the AmbujaNeotia Group, and the academic excellence of its Vice Chancellor, Prof. A.S. Kolaskar, a well-known scientist and highly experienced educationist. He had earlier served as the Vice Chancellor of University of Pune, and former Advisor of National Knowledge Commission, New Delhi.

Both TNU and NITMAS are diligent in their pursuit of excellence and their aim to attain holistic development of students by fostering a truly inspirational academic environment, and by ensuring that the education provided is contemporary and experiential through partnerships with industries and other academic institutes.
