Every child has the right to proprer school footware. Yet, thousands of children across Africa go to school barefoot which ends them up with later foot problems that may last for a lifetime. By the time a child has reached 12 years old, their feet will have reached about 90% of their adult length. These first 12 years are crucial for foot development and are the reason podiastrists seek to prevent foot problems from early childhood.

As Joyteresa Foundation, we know that well-fitting shoes are vital to a child's rapidly growing feet. Children who continually wear do not wear shoes or wear incorrect shoes can aggrevate inherited foot problems and suffer foot and toe deformities that can last for a lifetime. Selecting the right shoes however, can prevent problems such as hammertoes, jiggers, bunnions, thickened or ingrown toenails, blisters, corns and bursistis from developing.
