among patients without established cardiovascular disease who are between 40 and 79 years

of age. Estimation of 10-year risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease are based on data

from multiple community-based populations and are applicable to African-American and non-

Hispanic white men and women 40 through 79 years of age.

lifestyle. Patients are considered to be at ‘elevated risk’ if the Pooled Cohort Equations predicted
