T2D Helper

T2D Helper supports glucose-lowering therapy in type 2 diabetes.

With type 2 diabetes glucose-lowering treatment, healthcare providers have a choice between different classes of drugs. The international EASD / ADA algorithm advises on the use of the different classes of glucose-lowering drugs. The "T2D Helper" is an app that provides information about these different classes of drugs and that translates the algorithm to the individual patient in a practical way, taking into account morbidities such as atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), heart failure, chronic kidney disease and possible renal impairment. In addition, the caregiver can also take into account possible side effects of the therapies, such as the risk of hypoglycaemia or the possibility of weight gain / decrease by using the filters. These filters can be switched on or off by the caregiver and will help him to come to an individualized therapy for his type 2 diabetes patients. The "T2D Helper" app also has a filter for reimbursement criteria, so that the caregiver can immediately test the therapy against the Belgian reimbursement criteria and he can make use of offered aids such as reimbursement certificates. Of course, the "T2D Helper" app is only a support tool and it is the caregiver himself who will be responsible for the final decision when choosing the glucose-lowering treatment. The "T2D Helper" app is updated regularly on the basis of reimbursement criteria in Belgium and / or changes in the treatment landscape for type 2 diabetes.
