The book entitled "Sunnah of the Prophet: Current Realities and Challenges" tries to address several contemporary issues in the field of hadith which include thematic hadith studies, methods of hadith scholars in hadith works, translation of the sunnah, ICT in the study of hadith, hadith and science, the contribution of formal institutions and informality in the study of hadith and the influence of foreign ideas in the study of hadith.

Thematic hadith studies try to analyze the hadiths of the prophet according to certain topics. Through this study, the hadiths of the Prophet S.A.W will be collected according to certain topics and then discussed and discussed based on the knowledge of riwayah and hadith dirayah. Among the issues discussed according to the thematic study in this book are human capital, bay' al-nasiah and al-rahn.

Through studying the methods of hadith scholars, the strength and specialty of their works can be identified. Among the ulama figures chosen were Ibn Solah, Ibn Hajar al-Haythami and contemporary ulama such as Sheikh al-Albani, Sheikh Dr Yusuf al-Qardawi and Dr Zaghlul al-Najjar. The contributions of Indonesian ulama in the field of hadith were also discussed, including Sheikh Nawawi Banten, Sheikh Wan Ali Kutan al-Kelantani, Sheikh Yasin Padang and M. Quraish Shihab.

The issue of hadith translation also finds a place in this book. This is because all hadith texts are rendered in Arabic. In fact, to make it easier for people to understand the Sunnah well, the main hadith works need to be translated. In this translation effort, several conditions need to be adhered to to ensure a precise and correct translation.

Issues regarding the requirements and criteria for translating hadith are among the issues analyzed in this book. One of the themes discussed in this book is ICT in the study of hadith. The convenience of ICT such as hadith web pages and software including Islamweb, al-durar, al-maktabah al-Shamilah and the like has helped a lot in improving the study of hadith. In fact, the issue of authority and blasphemy of these web pages is one of the issues discussed in this book.

Formal and informal institutions also contribute to the planning of hadith studies. A study of the contribution of formal and informal institutions in the study of hadith will reveal to us the role of these institutions in the development of the study of hadith, the programs and activities carried out and the missions and hopes to be achieved. Inhad, Khazanah Fathaniyah, Jakarta Center for Hadith Studies are among those introduced in this book.
