Spiritual Progress by François Fénelon
Spiritual Progress is actually a collection of five works which are intended for daily devotions and reflection. Theese works are composed by three closely linked mystical thinkers of the 17th century: Francois Fenelon, Madame Guyon, and Pere La Combe. Fenelon was an archbishop who wrote the first two works, Christian Counsel and Spiritual Letters. Madame Guyon, who was a close friend of Fenelon, wrote the Method of Prayer and On the Way to God, which speak of the importance of unceasing prayer. Pere La Combe, who was the spiritual director of Madame Guyon, composed the Spiritual Maxims, which emphasizes the importance of having a desire and love for God. Each work is divided into chapters making them ideal for morning or evening devotions. Overall the work proves to be a timeless guide for progressing spiritually.About Spiritual Progress by François Fénelon
