Welcome spring with a dramatic textured arrangement of curly willow fuzzy pussy willows and baby-soft cherry blossoms. Foam base shows off pretty paper napkins!

Materials

STYROFOAM Brand Foam

Blocks, 12" x 4" x 2", two

Other Materials

Pussy willow sprays, 12

Silk cherry blossom sprays, four

Curly twigs

Spanish moss

Decorative paper napkins

Tools

Floral shears

Serrated knife

Candle stub or paraffin

Pencil

Ruler

Metal teaspoon

Paintbrushes: medium flat; disposable sponge

Disposable palette

Water basin

Paper towels

Scissors

Low-temp glue gun and glue sticks

Thick, white craft glue

Matte-finish dcoupage medium

Instructions

1. Use glue gun to glue foam blocks together, creating 12" x 4" x 4" block.

Use pencil to draw 2" x 10" rectangle in center top of one side.

2. Wax serrated knife with candle stub or paraffin. Using

knife and ruler, cut 1" deep into foam along pencil lines

drawn in Step 1. Make several long, angular cuts across

rectangle and remove foam inside lines. Smooth bottom of

opening with back of metal spoon.

3. Peel top layer from several napkins. Use flat brush to

spread thin, even layer of white glue over sides and top of

foam block; spread glue down sides of opening, as well. Place

napkins over glue, one at a time, and gently smooth with

fingertips; cut away excess. Let dry.

4. Use sponge brush to apply decoupage medium over napkins; let dry.

5. Using photo as placement guide, insert pussy willow and

cherry blossom stems into foam inside rectangular opening.

Fill in arrangement with curly twigs. Tuck and glue Spanish

moss into opening around all stems; let dry.
