The history of hadith is material that has been determined as a unit of study in undergraduate and postgraduate study programs. However, due to the absence of a comprehensive and coherent manual, the material is usually taught by respectable lecturers in different ways.

In order to meet the needs of this kind of study, in the last few years, I have conducted continuous studies in the field of hadith history. Some of the results of these studies have been presented to students in the field of Theology (Ilahiyyat) in the form of a book entitled Pazuhesyi dar Tharikhe Hadits Syi'eh (A Study in the History of Shia Hadith). However, bearing in mind that, firstly, there is no discussion of the history of Ahlusunnah hadith, and, secondly, the materials only reveal the history of Shi'a hadith in the early periods, then, even though the book received good reception among scholars, still unable to perfectly meet the knowledge and learning needs of Ulum Qurani and Hadith students.

This book that is before you, consists of one introductory section regarding general discussions regarding hadith and its position in Islamic literature, and there are two more sections with the following descriptions.

The first part, discusses the history of Ahlusunnah traditions and research on the position of their hadiths - sunnah and nabawi's traditions - in various periods. Readers can get to know more about the hard work of the muhaddits and scholars of this school of thought, find out their important works and achievements in the field of hadith.

Part Two, includes studies on the history of Shia hadith. The discussion in this section is actually a summary of the Pazuhesyi dar Tarikhe Hadith Syi'eh book. At the end of this section, the author adds a report on the position of Shia hadith in contemporary periods (mutaakkhhirin).
