I apologize, but for technical reasons, Google will not let me submit updates to this app. Therefore, I have created a new version of this app called "Screen Off (No Lock)" which is now available in the Play store.

"Screen Off (No Lock)" is re-created from the ground-up to meet modern Android standards. Updates and improvements include:

* Black screen by default

* Full-screen immersive mode

* The ability to move to SD card

* A new MaterialUI icon design

* Updated Android permissions checking

Locks your screen and puts your phone to sleep as quickly as possible.

Press menu to select display options.

This does not immediately turn off your screen. For security reasons Android does not let applications sleep your phone.
