About Salmo 68

Great Psalm

May God arise! Let his enemies be scattered, let his adversaries flee from him.

That you dispel them as the wind carries smoke; as wax melts in the presence of fire, so may the wicked perish in the presence of God.

But let the righteous rejoice! Rejoice before God! Rejoice with great joy!

Sing to God, praise his name, exalt him who rides on the clouds; your name is Lord! Rejoice before him!

Father to orphans and defender of widows is God in his holy habitation.

God gives the solitary a home, sets the prisoners free for prosperity, but the rebels live in dry land.

When you went out before your people, O God, when you marched into the wilderness,

the earth trembled, the sky poured out rain before God, the God of Sinai; before God the God of Israel.

Of this generous rain, O God; You refreshed your exhausted heritage.

Thy people are settled therein, and thy goodness, O God, hath supplied the poor.

The Lord spoke the word, and many messengers proclaimed it:

“Kings and armies flee in flight; the housewife shares the spoils.

Even when you sleep among the campfires, the wings of my dove are covered with silver; his feathers of shining gold. ”

When the Almighty scattered kings, it was like snow on mount Zalmon.

The hills of Bashan are majestic; rugged are the hills of Bashan.

Why, O steep mountains, are you jealous of the mountain which God has chosen for your dwelling, where the Lord Himself will dwell forever?

God's chariots are numberless, they are thousands of thousands; in them the Lord came from Sinai to his holy place.

When you ascended in triumph to the highest, O Lord God, you took many prisoners captive; You have received men as gifts, even rebels, to settle in.

Blessed be the Lord God our Savior, who bear our burdens every day.

Our God is a God who saves; he is the Sovereign, he is the Lord who delivers us from death.

Surely God will crush the heads of their enemies, the hairy skulls of those who persist in their sins.

“I will bring them from Bashan,” says the Lord, “I will bring them from the depths of the sea.

that you may soak your feet in the blood of enemies, the blood of which the tongue of the dogs will have its portion. ”

Thy triumphal march is already seen, O God, the march of my God and King entering the sanctuary.

At the head are the singers, then the musicians; with them go the girls playing tambourines.

Praise God in the great congregation! Bless the Lord, descendants of Israel!

There is the little tribe of Benjamin leading them, the princes of Judah accompanied by their troops, and the princes of Zebulun and Naphtali.

On your behalf may God manifest his power! Show, O God, the power that you have already wrought toward us.

Because of your temple in Jerusalem kings will bring you presents.

Rebuke the beast among the reeds, the herd of bulls among the calves of the nations. Humiliated, bring silver bars. Spread the nations that enjoy war.

Rich fabrics come from Egypt; Ethiopia run to God with full hands

Sing to God, kingdoms of the earth, praise the Lord,

Who rides the heavens, the ancient heavens. Listen! He thunders with a powerful voice.

Proclaim the power of God! His majesty is over Israel, his power is in the high clouds.

Thou art fearful in thy sanctuary, O God; It is the God of Israel who gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!
