Salmo 33

Great Psalm

1 Sing to the Lord for joy, you who are righteous; to those who are upright it is well to praise him.

2 Praise the Lord with harp; offer him ten-string lyre music.

3 Sing him a new song; play with skill in cheering it.

4 For the word of the Lord is true; He is faithful in all that he does.

5 He loves justice and righteousness; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and the heavenly bodies by the breath of his mouth.

7 He gathers the waters of the sea into one place. from the deep makes reservoirs.

8 All the earth fear the LORD; tremble before him all the inhabitants of the world.

9 For he spake, and all was done; he ordered, and it all came up.

10 The Lord undoes the plans of the nations and frustrates the purposes of the peoples.

11 But the Lord's plans abide forever, the purposes of his heart, through all generations.

12 How happy is the nation that hath the Lord as God, the people whom he has chosen to belong to him!

13 The LORD looks down from heaven, and sees all mankind.

14 From his throne he watches all the inhabitants of the earth.

15 He who forms the hearts of all, who knows all that they do.

16 No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.

17 The horse is a hopeless hope of victory; Despite his great strength, he is unable to save.

18 But the Lord protects those who fear him, those who hold hope in his love,

19 to deliver them from death, and to give them life, even in times of famine.

20 Our hope is in the Lord; He is our help and our protection.

21 Our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name.

22 May your love be upon us, Lord, as our hope is in you.
