Salmo 21

Great Psalm

1 The king rejoices in your strength, O Lord! How great is his exultation at the victories you give him!

2 You have given him the desire of his heart and have not rejected the request of his lips.

3 You received him with rich blessings, and on his head did you put a crown of pure gold.

4 He asked you for life, and you gave it! Long and lasting life

5 For the victories that you have given him, great is his glory; with splendor and majesty you covered it.

6 You made him a great blessing forever and gave him the joy of your presence.

7 The king trusts in the Lord: because of the faithfulness of the Most High he will not be shaken.

8 Your hand will reach all your enemies; your right hand will reach all who hate you.

9 In the day that you manifest yourself you will make them a fiery furnace. In his wrath the Lord will devour them, a fire will consume them.

10 Thou shalt put an end to their offspring in the earth, their seed among men.

11 Though they plot evil against you and make evil plans, they will achieve nothing;

12 for you shall put them to flight when you point your bow at them.

13 Be exalted, Lord, in your strength! We will sing and praise your power.
