Salmo 19

Great Psalm

1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the firmament proclaims the work of his hands.

2 One day speaks of it to another day; one night reveals it to another night.

3 Without speech or words, his voice is not heard.

4 But his voice resounds throughout the earth, and his words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he pitched a tent for the sun,

5 who is like a bridegroom who leaves his room and launches into his career with the joy of a hero.

6 It comes from one end of the heavens and makes its way to the other; nothing escapes its heat.

7 The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The testimonies of the Lord are trustworthy and make the inexperienced wise.

8 The precepts of the Lord are righteous and bring joy to the heart. The commandments of the Lord are clear and bring light to the eyes.

9 The fear of the Lord is pure and endures forever. The ordinances of the Lord are true, they are all righteous.

10 They are more desirable than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than the drops of the comb.

11 By them thy servant is warned; there is great reward in obeying them.

12 Who can discern their errors? Absolve me from those I don't know!

13 Also keep your servant from willful sins; let them not dominate me! Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression.

14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer!
