Great Psalm

1 Hallelujah! Praise the name of the Lord; praise him, servants of the Lord,

2 you who serve in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.

3 Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing praises to his name, for it is a lovely name.

4 For the LORD has chosen Jacob; to Israel as his personal treasure.

5 Truly, I know that the Lord is great, that our Sovereign is greater than all the gods

6 The Lord does whatever he pleases, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and in all their depths.

7 He brings the clouds from the ends of the earth; sends the lightning that accompanies the rain and causes the wind to come out of its stores.

8 It was he who slew the firstborn of Egypt, both man and beast.

9 He performed signs and wonders in the middle of Egypt against Pharaoh and all his counselors.

10 It was he who smote many nations and slew mighty kings:

11 Sihon king of the Amorites, Og ​​king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan;

12 and he gave their land for an inheritance, an inheritance to his people Israel.

13 Your name, Lord, endures forever, your fame, Lord, through all generations!

14 The Lord will defend his people and have compassion on his servants.

15 The idols of the nations are nothing but silver and gold, made by human hands.

16 They have a mouth, but cannot speak; eyes, but cannot see;

17 have ears, but they cannot hear nor is there breath in their mouths.

18 Let those who make them and all who trust in them become like them.

19 Bless the Lord, you Israelites! Bless the Lord, O priests!

20 Bless the Lord, O Levites! Bless the Lord, those who fear the Lord!

21 Blessed be the Lord from Zion, who dwells in Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
