Salmo 124

Great Psalm

1 If the Lord were not on our side; let Israel repeat it:

2 If the Lord had not been on our side when our enemies attacked us,

3 they would have swallowed us alive, when they raged against us;

4 the waters would have carried us away and the torrents would have drowned us;

5 yes, the violent waters would have drowned us!

6 Blessed be the Lord, who has not handed us over to be torn apart by their teeth.

7 Like a bird we escape the hunter's snare; the trap was broken, and we escaped.

8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
