Does it annoy you when you do a web search, and then get bombarded by adds for the same item on various sites for the next month? You send your search terms to then, they will perform the search on Google, and send the results back to you. Google doesn't see you OR your IP address. 2) The browser you use can be a source of security problems. Browsers will typically save a history of every site you visit, viewable later by you or anyone else with access (both legal and surreptitious) to your phone/computer. Sites are also issuing invisible cookies that store their data on your device to help them, not you). Javascript is used by many sites to perform monkey-business behind your back, and generally for their benefit, not yours.

While SafeSearch will let you use your favorite browser to connect to various search engines proxies (as mentioned above), for the maximum security, SafeSearch provides you with a minimalistic, bare-bones web browser that insures there is no history stored, no cookies are received or sent, and javascript is disabled, all for your ultimate possible privacy.
