GitJournal is awesome! It is the one and only thing on my phone that I allow to be saved/backed up to any online/"cloud" service. This is because it is tied to a private repository on my own GitLab account and uses a secure SSL token that only I and the app know. I have also tested GitJournal extensively to ensure that it makes no background requests to connect with other third-party services, such as Google/Firebase, Amazon, Facebook, Cloudfront, etc. that are key players in the game of siphoning user data for their own financial gain. This app keeps it clean, private and extremely respectful of its users' data. The GitJournal project is also FOSS (Free Open-Source Software) and the developer is very active with development and the GitJournal community.I HIGHLY recommend giving this app a whirl to see for yourself!
