Palapa Group was founded by Karjo AC-DC (Sukarjo) in 1975, after leaving Aneka Ria Srimulat and then Ria Jaya Johny Gudel. Palapa Group courtiers are quite well known in their era (mostly former members of the Srimulat comedy group) such as Karjo AC-DC, Soeroto, Sumiati, Tatang, and Jawal.
