The Islamic religion consists of creed, sharia (fiqah) and adab [morals]. Each of these matters is equally important and must be taken seriously. A true Muslim is able to apply these three aspects in his life and interact with Allah, humans and the universe.

Observing today's lifestyle, I see that there is still very little discussion about Islamic customs compared to books on creeds and fiqah. We can find books and articles that discuss various issues of faith and law, some of which even trigger disputes among the people. However, we rarely find books that teach Islamic etiquette to serve as a moral guide for a Muslim.

In fact, Islamic etiquette is very important. It reflects the identity of Muslims which differentiates themselves from other people and is also a marker of the perfection of one's faith.

Imam al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from Abdullah bin 'Amr, "The Messenger of Allah SAW was not a vile person who spoke dirty words. His Majesty always said, indeed the best person among you is the one with the best morals."

In the history of Abu Daud and at-Tirmizi, the Prophet SAW said, "A believer whose faith is most perfect is the one whose morals are most beautiful." Imam at-Tirmizi said, "Hadith hasan is valid."

Noble morals are the greatest gift that Allah has ever given to a Muslim. Whoever has noble morals will be the happiest person in the world and in the Hereafter.
