Imam Muhammad al-Ghazali, a Sufi who really understands the science of fiqh, gave an idea about the secret of fasting. As a fiqh expert as well as a tasawwuf expert, Imam Ghazali does not only see fasting as a bodily worship. Therefore, his idea about the secret of fasting makes us aware of the importance of fasting physically and spiritually.
