Qurratul Uyun, that is the name of the book I mean published by Bismika in Jakarta. This book is translated from Qurrat Al-Uyun bi Syarh Nazham Ibnu Yamun by Syech Muhammad At-Tahami Ibnu Madani.

So what's so interesting about this book? Qurratul Uyun is a well-known treasure of the yellow book among traditional Islamic boarding schools, namely a guide for captaining a household ark and guiding steps in tracing the twists and turns of relationship life.

Qurratul Uyun also discusses matters relating to walimah, the right time to get married, the most appropriate time to have intercourse, advice for husband and wife to love each other and the responsibility of parents in educating children.

There is one part of this book that I would like to quote, namely If You Want to Have a Boy or Girl on page 171. Here's what it says:

In the book An-Nashihah it is said, if a husband wants a son, he should ask his wife to sleep lying on her right after intercourse. If what you want is a daughter, then the wife should lie down to the left after intercourse. But if the husband wants the intercourse that he just did does not produce results, then he should ask his wife to lie down.

Ibn 'Ardhun said, the author of the book Al-Idhah stated that a husband who would experience an organism should lean his body to the right. God willing, by making such movements, the child that will be born from intercourse will be a boy.

That said, whoever wants a boy, let him greet the fetus in his wife's womb by saying "Muhammad".
