Power 89.1 FM

Power 89.1 FM is an alternative music station.

Power 89.1 started its broadcast in 1992 under the original call sign DYDW-FM Cebu when a tri-partite Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Word Broadcasting Corporation with two private management companies to manage its marketing, programming, and production of station. Later on, it became known as the Citylite 89.1 –The Light of the City.

Today, the station is now named Power 89.1 FM It has become an alternative music station to other popularity-oriented stations; it is also distinctly Catholic-oriented in its taste in music and above all, in its messages. Added to that is the fact that it is also created for the purpose of development of people’s attitude to what is genuinely pleasurable and wholesome music as well as the promotion of Christian values.
