This textbook was prepared as one of the handbooks for Vocational High School (SMK) students in the Aircraft Engineering skills program. The structure and contents of this book can provide an overview of the entire series of aircraft engineering learning.

The textbook developed refers to elements contained in the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) and the Aircraft Maintenance Training Organization (AMTO) standard curriculum which are contained in competency achievements. These competency achievements contain certain competency titles which must refer to the values ​​of the Pancasila Student Profile.

Volume I of the Basics of Aircraft Engineering Book consists of six chapters, namely the Aircraft Maintenance Industry, Health, Work Safety and the Environment (K3LH), Technical Drawings, Basics of Aerodynamics, Aircraft Materials, and Aircraft Hardware, Tools, and Equipments.

The author realizes that this textbook still has shortcomings, therefore we hope for criticism and suggestions for the improvement and perfection of this textbook. Hopefully this book can be used as a learning resource for vocational students in the Aircraft Engineering skills program
