Peacocks are medium-sized birds that are most closely related to pheasants. They are also referred to as peafowl. Peafowl that are male are referred to as peacocks, while peafowl that are female are referred to as peahens. On average, male peacocks can grow to be about twice as large as their female counterparts. One of the most breathtaking sights in all of the animal kingdom is that of a peacock's tail. However, their aesthetic appeal is only part of the story. The birds also use the massive length of their tails to produce a resounding sound.

The tail of a peacock is a thing of beauty. When opened, it reveals an iridescent wonder that shimmers and is covered in enormous spots. Its length can range from four to even five feet in some cases. This male Indian peafowl creates a rustling sound with his extended tail by flicking it back and forth, which sounds almost like a drumroll. This is what the scientific community refers to as the peacock's "train rattle." It is also possible to refer to it as the sound of peacock love. This rattle from the train is also causing a vibration in the air, which is something that we as humans are unable to feel. But female peacocks, also known as peahens, are able to do so.
