The giant panda (Ailuropoda Melanoleuca), is a large, endangered bear species of the bear family, with large patches of black in patches on its white pelt. Giant pandas have not lost the simple digestive properties of a carnivore, although they manage with the daily food of a herbivore. The giant panda's round face is formed by the adaptation of the giant panda to bamboo, its daily food. Giant pandas' powerful claw muscles attach from head to paw. The large molars serve to crush and grind fibrous plant parts.

Because research on pandas is challenging, little is known about them. These precious animals are under protection as they are near extinction, so it is not known for certain today whether they even hibernate.
