A lot of "end-to-end encrypted" messengers require users to register with their phone number, and ask users to grant permissions to access contacts, location etc.

Onion Chat is designed to be a secure and fully anonymous chat app, over secure TOR tunnel. Users do not need to register with a phone number, and do not need to grant any permissions for the app to work. All messaging traffic is routed e2e encrypted, and routed p2p through TOR network, for privacy and security.

**Zero Data Needed**

Onion Chat offers a high level of privacy since it is fully functional, without requiring your phone number or any other permission. We do not seek your contacts or location. By routing messages directly peer-to-peer and through a TOR tunnel, Onion Chat ensures that your messages are anonymous and secure.
