Step 1

Using your measuring tape, measure around your dog’s belly. Take your measurement and cut your elastic band. Make sure that the elastic band isn’t to tight. Take the ends of the band and connect them together with your safety pin. (In case you’re feeling it, you can take your needle and thread and quickly sew the ends together.)

Step 2

Lay out your tulle and start cutting strips of 2″ and 3″ wide.

Step 3

Set your tulle strips aside and cover your elastic with a nice ribbon. This will add a great accent to your adorable DIY dog tutu.

Step 4

Now that you have your elastic band with ribbon, take the tulle strips you set aside earlier. Leave the fabric folded in half to create a puffy look and start tying it around your elastic band. Tie it by taking the middle part and insert the bottom of your fabric then gently pull. Repeat until you’ve completely covered your elastic band with the strips.
