In his childhood, he attended Tieu La High School, Tran Cao Van High School and Phan Chau Trinh Secondary School. From 1973 Nguyen Nhat Anh moved to live in Saigon, studying pedagogy. He used to go to Young Volunteers, teach Literature at Binh Tay Secondary School (District 6) from 1983-1985.

In 1990, the long story Troubled boy was awarded by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Prize for Class A Young Literature. In 1995, he was voted the most favorite writer in 20 years (1975-1995 ) through a poll of readers about the typical young faces in all areas of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and Tuoi Tre newspaper, and also selected by Ho Chi Minh City Writers' Association as one of 20 houses. In 1998 he was awarded by Kim Dong Publishing House for the best-selling writer. In 2003, the series of episodes of Kaleidoscope was awarded medal for the young generation by the Central Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City and awarded by the Vietnam Writers' Association. Up to now, he has published nearly 100 works and has long been a close writer of young readers in Vietnam.

In 2004, Nguyen Nhat Anh signed a contract with Kim Dong Publishing House to continue publishing a long series of four episodes named The Story of Langbiang about two boys lost in the wizarding world. This is the first time he has written a series entirely based on imagination. Therefore, in preparation for this work, it took him 6 months to study documents and read related books and newspapers such as Witches and Wizards, Eastern legends, Magic and witchcraft ... [ 2]

After the Story of Langbiang, his next work is the pen of a Cun whose name is I Am. [3]

In 2008, he released the work Let me get a ticket to childhood, was voted the best work of 2008 by Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper.

In 2012, Nguyen Nhat Anh released a long story. There were two cats sitting by the window. The most recent works are Sitting on trees (6/2013), Good day (3/2014), Seven steps to summer (March 2015), Small dog carries a basket of roses (export February 28, 2016) and Young Banana trees wear green shoes (released on January 7, 2018)
