Is the purpose of teaching practical life skills?

Self-care is an important learning at Mulberry Tree as it fosters independence. This includes brushing your teeth, washing your face, changing clothes, and packing/unpacking. Rather than teaching children to wipe their mouths after lunch, counselors often show children that they are mirroring to determine what needs to be done.

Life skills teach social responsibility - everyone has their own part in community activities such as cleaning classrooms, caring for pets, tidying up the mud kitchen after playing outside. Students must be encouraged to maintain our society together for a common cause and better purpose, and gardening courses should be encouraged during the effective completion of community tasks
