Estimating and then measuring length is fun. Essentially its finding distance between two given points. In first level fingers and handspan is used. In next level rulers with centimetres/meters is used. Large distance such as distance between two cities are measured in kilometres. Gradually children understand the correlation between units and learn to convert one unit into another.
