In the mobile drama MARYAM by Rebecca Forsberg, we meet a young scientist in the 900-century Aleppo, Syria in her quest to fit in Baytal-Hikma, the House of Wisdom. Maryam developed the astrolabe, an astrological instruments that could be carried in a pocket, with features that could measure time, place and position. Maryam is a drama about alienation, courage and the right to education.

The mobile drama Maryam is an app that takes place in the mobile phone and in cities around the world. The drama is played as you move around outdoors with your mobile, and you can choose your own way through Maryam's story. After the drama, you can contribute your thoughts and share each other's reflections. Made by Rats Theatre in collaboration with the Royal Dramatic Theatre and the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences at Stockholm University.
