Ocean is the body of salt water which hold about 321 million cubic miles of water. There are five oceans named; Pacific, Atlantic, Southern, Indian & Arctic. The 8th June is world ocean day. The Pacific ocean is the largest and deepest of earth's five oceanic divisions. It extends from the Arctic ocean in the north to the Southern ocean in the south which is about 165.2 million km² and 4280 meter depth. Then Atlantic ocean is the second largest ocean with an area about 106,460,000 km². It covers approximately 20% of earth's surface and about 29% of it’s water surface. Southern ocean is the third, it is also known as the Antarctic ocean. It's about 20.33 million km² extended and 3200 meter depth.

Oceanography is also known as oceanology. It is the scientific study of oceans. The ocean is blue because water absorbs colours in the red part of the light spectrum. Wind waves in the ocean are also called ocean surface waves, they are mainly gravity waves. The deep sea is called "Abyssopelagic Zone", which surface layer extends down 650 feet (200 m.) and receives the most sunlight, allowing photosynthetic organisms like phytoplankton to convert sunlight to energy. The deep sea is the lowest layer in the ocean, which is called " Bathypelagic". It is below the thermocline and above the seabed, at a depth of 1000 fathoms or more. There is deep sea creatures lives below the photic zone of the ocean. These creatures manage to survive in extremely harse conditions such as hundreds of bars of pressure, small amount of oxyzen, no sunlight, very little food and extreme cold. As like underwater, also there is more thing at the surface of the ocean. Oceana is an volcanic island, which is located in Wyoming country, West Virginia. Point Nemo is known as 'The Oceanic Pole Of Inaccessibility'.

Serpent d'océan (lit. "Serpent of the Ocean" ) is a work by artist Huang Yong Ping. Depicting a long sea serpent skeleton, it is installed in the intertidal zone at Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, France. Marine science is a rich discipline that combines studies from variety of subjects ir order to understand the marine environment, marine life and their interactions. There is 5 kinds of studies in marine but most importantly the Marine Biology. Marine Biology is the scientific study of the Biology of marine life, organisms in the sea. Marine life is the plants, animals and other organisms that lived in the salt water of the sea. But sadly, most oceans started to polluting. It begins on land. Much of this runoff flows to the sea, carrying with it agricultural fertilizers, pesticides and plastics. And also there is Ocean acidification, which is ongoing decrease in the pH value of the Earth's oceans, caused by the uptake of carbon dioxide (CO 2) from the atmosphere. The main cause of ocean acidification is human burning of fossil fuels. So, we must aware people about it.
