The Quran was revealed by Allah s.w.t to the prophet Muhammad s.a.w

Al-Qur'an comes from Arabic which means "recitation" or "something that is read over and over again". The word Al-Qur'an is the noun form (masdar) of the verb qara'a which means to read. The concept of using this word can also be found in one of the letters of the Qur'an itself, namely in verses 17 and 18 of Surah Al-Qiyamah which means:

"Indeed, collecting the Qur'an (in your chest) and (setting) its reading (on your tongue) is our responsibility. (Therefore,) if We have read it, you should follow {practice} the reading "(75:17-75:18)
