Malaysia's Independence Day is a national day of Malaysia commemorating the independence of the Federation of Malaya from British colonial rule in 1957, celebrated every year on 31st August. As of 2015 it has been 58 years Malaysia has gained its independence or "kemerdekaan". And of course this means so much to all citizens of the country.
