Louvre Museum; It consists of seven sections. At the beginning of each department, there are authorized and responsible persons. These, in turn, depend on the museum director. It consists of parts that are divided into branches such as painting, sculpture, eastern arts, Egyptian arts, Greek arts, works of art, and patterns. In the Eastern arts department; sculpture, artifacts from the Akat civilizations are available. On the other hand, the Egyptian art section is vital in terms of recognizing the examples of civilization brought from Egypt and revealed in the research conducted by the Cairo French Institute.

Louvre Museum; It is the largest art museum in the world. It was established in the Louvre Palace in Paris, the capital of France. It is located on the banks of the Seine River, which runs through the city. There is a wide range of collections from prehistoric times to the 21st century. Approximately 35,000 historical works of art are exhibited in an area of 72,735 square meters. In 2017, it was chosen as the most visited art museum in the world, with 8.1 million visitors. The Louvre Museum collection, which consists of 8 different sections, houses more than 380,000 works of art, of which only 35,000 are on display.

After several enlargements, it was finally completed in 1682 in the XIV. With the decision of Louis to move to the Palace of Versailles, the Louvre became a place that is not a museum but serves the same function, where the royal collection, including essential artifacts from Greek and Roman civilizations, began to be exhibited. In this context, after being used for about ten years, the schools of literature and sculpture, which were established in the name of the royal in 1692, moved here and continued their education here for 100 years. Founded during the French Revolution, the national assembly decided that the Louvre should be used as a museum where works of French art were exhibited, so it was turned into a museum again.

Philippe Auguste originally built the Louvre in the early thirteenth century (1204). Taking its name from the English word “Lower,” meaning strength, power, the palace later became a royal center in the 14th century. In the fifteenth century, when the palace moved to the shore of the Loire, the Louvre fell into disrepair, and the construction of the Tuileries section of the palace was started in 1564. It was completed in the time of Napoleon. The palace, which became a museum in 1793, suffered a great fire in 1871. The building, which has survived to our time with the repairs and changes, took its final shape in 1932. With the decision taken by the Presidency of France in 2021, a woman, Laurence Des Cars, was appointed to the management of the museum for the first time in 228 years.
