Seventh-day Adventists are known, more than a century ago, for their concern for health in a comprehensive and preventive manner. And why does a religion get involved in health issues? Adventists believe that everything that affects the body also affects the mind, what happens in the body will facilitate or hinder communication with celestial beings. Religion is just that (it comes from religare, from Latin), that is, to maintain that connection.

Therefore, the Church develops its health projects through three well-defined fronts: health institutions (clinics, hospitals and healthy living centers for prevention purposes), extensive literature production on the subject (publishes several books annually regarding how to have a healthier life) and through courses, seminars, conferences, workshops and practical events where it teaches how people can have quality of life.

The basis of this whole movement is the recognition of the existence of eight natural remedies, free, available to all people. There are eight general principles of how to develop and maintain a better life in the physical, emotional and spiritual spheres. For Adventists, according to Romans 12: 1 and 2, the quality of life should not be sought only for longevity or momentary well-being, but on account of a correct relationship between the creature and the Creator and Originator of life.

Do not conform to this century, but transform yourself through the renewal of your understanding, so that you will see what the good will of God is, pleasant and perfect. ”
