About Loffee - Lo-Fi Music Player

Lo-Fi Music Music the music itself always manages to relax and keep me focused

I'm the type of person who loves to have music playing in the background whenever I'm reading, writing, or doing something that requires mental energy. But I also get easily distracted. Songs that are too fast or have lyrics can make it hard to concentrate.

At the same time, ambient noise isn't my favorite thing, so I was really happy when I made for you 🎵 Loffee - Lo-Fi Music Player 🎵

The music itself always manages to relax and keep me focused. Most of the songs have a repetitive melody and a slow rhythm that work together to put my mind at ease.

🎵 NOW...

The 21st century has bought with it a brand new age of technology, and the possibilities for music production and recording practices are constantly evolving. A lot of music avoids mimicking live music with acoustic instruments, and instead uses sounds created with computer software.

Every sound that makes up the track was created with some form of computer software. The accompanying beat could be comparable to a drum kit, but the bassline/melody is so warped that it can’t even be compared to anything natural or organic let alone a musical instrument.

🎵 HISTORY OF LO-FI MUSIC

The emergence of lo-fi music in the 1950’s was started by amateur musicians that had low recording budgets. The DIY recording and non-ideal recording venues meant that unnatural distortions occurred. Despite the lack of quality the records had, the lo-fi sound became popular among the masses; it was the character and uniqueness of a song that made it popular, not how faithful of a representation it was. It was both written and recorded at a radio station. The co-writer called it ‘a fifteen minute job’, and when you listen to it you can definitely hear how the rushed recording affected the quality. It has a raw sound with an uneven mix; the drums are too quiet and the piano and saxophone are in a constant battle to be heard.

The raw distorted sound of lo-fi music became associated with youth, and musicians started to record tracks using poor equipment on purpose. During the 1980’s and 1990’s the concept of lo-fi was taken to an extreme through genres like Metal.

👀 Note:

All music you'll find here is free CC, meaning that it is available for you to download at no cost. What else you're allowed to do with the music varies depending on the license that's associated with each track.

Currently, there are six "CC" licenses, which allow varying degrees of use and impose varying requirements on users. To achieve this diversity of options while keeping things relatively simple, CC mixes and matches four key license terms: Attribution, NonCommercial (“NC”), NoDerivatives (“ND”), and ShareAlike (“SA”).

All the music Creative Commons license is giving appropriate credit in the Description in every song; they all include, at the very least, “Attribution,” which means giving credit to the creator of the work. Title, Author, Source & License associated with the work (or TASL, if you are fond of acronyms)
