The cathedral has dominated the cityscape for over 800 years, a predecessor to the current cathedral stood here as early as the 12th century. As the centuries have passed, it has been converted into the magnificent cathedral we see today. The arrangement and furnishing of the cathedral’s interior have been changed on several occasions throughout history.
