About Kitab Matan Al-Jurumiyah

Explanation of the Book of Matan Al-Jurumiyah By Sheikh Ibnu Aajurruumi Muhammad

This Android application is an explanation of the book Matan Al-Jurumiyah by Sheikh Ibnu Aajurruumi Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Dawud As-Shanhaji Alfaasiy. In PDF format.

The Book of Matan Al-Ajurumiyah is a book that discusses the study of Arabic nahwu (grammar). This book, which is often called Matan Jurumiyah, is the work of Muhammad bin Dawud as-Shanhaji. This book contains basic studies on nahwu which are dense enough so that it is commonly used by beginners in Islamic boarding schools and taklim assemblies.

Matan Jurumiyah contains 26 concise and concise chapters. At least we can divide Matan Jurumiyah into three major studies, namely the elements or anatomy of sentence-forming words in Arabic, namely isim (noun), fi'il (verb), and letters (prepositions) in the kalam chapter; declination or flexion that shows a change at the end of a word according to the case as the Arabic grammatical character in the i'rab, 'alamatul i'rab, and fashlun chapters; and the flexion rule itself that occurs in verbs in the al'-af'al chapter and nouns in the marfu'atil asthma chapter, the manshubatil asthma chapter, and the makhfudhatil asthma chapter.

Arabic grammar recognizes four flexions, namely rafa', nashab, khafadh, and jazam. Each flexion has its own grammatical marker according to the character of the word. Flexion in some words occurs in vowels, for example fathah, kasrah, dhammah, and breadfruit. Flexion in some other words occurs with letters, for example alif, wawu, yes, tsubut/hadzaf nun.

The Book of Matan Jurumiyah then explains the flexion that occurs in verbs through the al-af'al chapter. While the flexion on nouns is explained in the chapters marfu'atil asma'i, chapters manshubatil asma'i, and chapters makhfudhatil asma'i.

In the chapter al-af'al, fi'il or verbs in Arabic are divided into 3, namely madhi, mudhari, and amr with flexion occurring in fi'il mudhari and amil (rafa', nashab, and jazam) which affect flexion in fi 'il mudhari.

In the chapter marfu'atil asma'i, this book explains the cases of rafa' which occur in isim/nouns, namely in the cases of fa'il, na'ibul fa'il, mubtada, khabar, isim kana, khabar inna, and tawabi rafa' (na'at / attribute, ataf [conjunction], tawkid, and badal).

In the chapter manshubatil asma'i, the book of Matan Jurumiyyah explains cases of nashab that occur in isim/nouns, namely maf'ul bih, absolute maf'ul (masdar), maf'ul fih (zharaf of the age and zharaf of eating), khabar kana, isim inna, hal, tamyiz, istitsna, la, munada, and maf'ul li ajlih, maf'ul ma'ah.

In the chapter makhfudhatil asma'i, the book of Jurumiyyah explains three reasons for flexion in the case of khafadh/jar, namely the factor of the letter khafadh/jar including the letter qasam which functions as khafadh/jar, the factor of idhafah (a combination of two or more words as one meaning), and the factor of tawabi . In this chapter, the Book of Matan Jurumiyyah also informs about two types of idhafah meanings, namely the meaning of ownership (eg Budi's book [Budi's book]) and the meaning of source or origin (iron door [a door made of iron]).
