Clarity and help for Jehovah's Witnesses

JWStruggle is dedicated to those that have awakened to The Truth About The Truth. Society today values freedom of religion and choice, and the JWStruggle app and blog and YouTube channel exist to help give information to those that are looking for an honest and impartial assessment of the Jehovah's Witness religion. My perspective as a former clergyman for the group for some 20 years speaks for itself, and it is left up to each person to assess what is found here and on the many other excellent websites and YT channels authored by former members.

As a longtime Ministerial Servant, Elder, Pioneer, and Brooklyn Bethelite, I started to do independent research into the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses in 2009. A blog was built in 2010 so as to anonymously post my findings, reflections, and experiences. This was very much a therapeutic endeavor for me personally and I did not plan for it to become anything else but that. Once I went to my wife with all the evidence and research I had found, I was called an "apostate" and told that I was leaving God. But nothing could be further from the reality, as my journey took me to a meeting with three elders, and I was able to publish the first ever video-recorded Judicial Committee meeting on the internet that spanned some three hours of respectful debate and discussions with these loyal WT company men. This six-part YouTube series has been viewed several hundred thousand times as of late 2015, and stands as a testament to how the elders serve as enforcers for the religion of Watchtower, disfellowshipping and marginalizing anyone that questions the policies and dogma of the JW church.

Within a short time many other current and former elders and publishers began to message me and ask questions, share their stories, and compare notes with me. What we discovered was that the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society had been lying to their members for well over 100 years, and distorting the truth so as to strengthen their brand and keep their membership asleep and docile. This tax-free organization has been using the Jehovah's Witnesses as a front for their billion dollar business model as a book publishing company and real estate/property developer.

The court of public opinion continues to debate and discuss the pedophilia, dubious doctrines, and secretive policies setup and perpetuate by the leadership in New York. This self-appointed group of men calling themselves The Governing Body claim to be God's exclusive mouthpiece on earth. Only they speak for Jehovah God, and they exercise an almost complete control over the thoughts and behaviors of their benighted members. It is a male-dominated club that uses fear guilt and shame to maintain control.

Each person must judge these assertions for themselves of course, and it is not mine or anyone's else's place to try and force active members to believe or leave their religion of their birth. All I would say is, view the material with an open mind. The truth can withstand any test.

For those struggling with their conscience and the very real threat of shunning and loss of friends and family members, I would say this:

For me it has been so much better to be true to myself and live my life as a free person and let go of the conditional friendships of the JW club. At first I tried to hide what I had learned. But the more I reflected on what Jesus meant when he said to "let your light shine" I was forced with a choice. It was the right one for me.
